Liverpool Women's players were in action for their respective countries in international fixtures, with several Reds featuring in key matches. Lily Woodham marked her 50th appearance for Wales with a goal as her country hosted Czechia in Women's World Cup qualifying. The full-back was on target with an equaliser in the ninth minute, clipping a low, first-time effort across the goalkeeper. Ceri Holland then set up two goals – the first with a free-kick delivery and the second after a driving run and cross – to help Wales secure a 3-1 victory in Cardiff. Elsewhere, Reds defender Jenna Clark was on the scoresheet for Scotland in a 5-1 win against Israel, converting a header from close range. Clark and her Liverpool teammate and compatriot Kirsty Maclean both featured for the whole of the tie, which was played in Budapest. Denise O'Sullivan represented the Republic of Ireland as they were beaten 1-0 away from home versus France. Earlier in the day, Zara Shaw was introduced for the final half-hour of England U20s' 1-0 friendly defeat by Japan in Spain.
